Distributed by PFG Machinery in Australia, McHale’s hay equipment, especially its balers and wrappers have earned a solid reputation among Aussie farmers for their reliability and innovation.
On display recently at the 2018 AFIA Fodder Festival was the Fusion 3 Plus integrated baler wrapper and the Orbital round bale wrapper.

PFG Australia product specialist, Shane Cox, spoke about the fixed chamber baler, the McHale Fusion 3 Plus.
The integrated baler wrapper consists of an 18 roller fixed chamber and an integrated vertical wrapping ring.
It uses Film-on-Film technology to apply film to the barrel of the bale in the bale chamber.
Cox said the fully recyclable film is a different consistency to film used in the past.
McHale developed a patented application system which adjusts the breaking force on the roll of plastic in-line with working conditions and allows for a continuously variable stretch.
According to Cox, this results in optimum bale shape and density, and places more plastic on the largest surface of the bale.
The Fusion features a 2m, five tine bar pick-up, a drop floor unblocking system, double drive variable bale chamber, crop flow indicators and patented bale transfer delivering high output.
“You are looking at a bale transfer time of four seconds,” Cox said.
The high-speed vertical wrapping ring features two 750mm dispensers, film break sensors and easy film loading.
It can apply six layers of film to a 1.25m bale in about 30 seconds.
PFG area manager, David Pulman, was on hand to demonstrate the high speed McHale Orbital round bale wrapper.
Pulman said the Orbital is able to wrap bales of 1.1m to 1.45m.

It features a gentle bale tip after wrapping, film break sensors and the facility to wrap with one roll.
Once the bale is loaded on to the bale wrapper, the high-speed vertical wrapping ring can apply four layers of film to a 1.25m bale in about 18 seconds or six layers of film in under 25 seconds.
The Orbital low maintenance vertical wrapping ring design ensures an even overlap as the distance between the dispensers and the bale never changes.
