Mercedes-Benz unveils G-Professional pricing

True hard-core 4x4 cab/chassis is now available to the public
Mercedes-Benz has announced the pricing for the Mercedes-Benz G-Professional Cab Chassis which is now on sale in Australia.
Built at the same facility as the renowned G-Class off-roader and leveraging the many years of the Geländewagen’s development, the G-Pro will appeal to the owner who wants true off-road ability.
The G-Pro is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel engine which produces 135kW at 3800rpm and 400Nm from 1600 to 2000rpm, sending its power through a five-speed automatic transmission.
There is also a dual-speed transfer case and diff locks on the front, rear and centre diffs.
Standard features include a snorkel, bull bar, headlight and indicator protection painted in black, radiator and sump shields, 16-inch alloy wheels and all-terrain tyres.
The G-Professional Cab Chassis offers a 2085kg payload (4490 kg GVM) without a tray and a braked towing capacity of 2250kg. Mercedes-Benz says the G-Pro will reach more places with the help of a reinforced chassis and suspension which offers 245mm ground clearance, 650mm fording depth and adjustable engine speed control.
A walk-on bonnet featuring reinforcement (load limit 100kg) and a non-slip coating is also available, as is a cyclone air filter that is designed to separate dirt and dust from the air before entering the traditional air filter under the bonnet.
Fitted with permanent all-wheel-drive with a 50:50 front-rear split, the G-Professional has an approach angle of 38 degrees and departure angle of 35 degrees and a ramp-over angle of 22 degrees.
It has a recommended towing capacity of 2210kg (braked) and 750kg (unbraked), and a gross vehicle mass (GVM) of 4490kg (4.49 tonnes).
Two 12-volt batteries are fitted, as well as a tyre pressure monitoring. A spare wheel is supplied (loose) plus two wheel chocks. No tray is supplied at the time of sale.
Inside, the G-Professional offers extreme durability and practicality rather than luxury with vinyl seat covers, two water-drain plugs rubber floor mats and storage boxes under both seats. It does, however, offer air-conditioning, armrests for both driver and passenger, and a lockable glovebox.
The G 300 CDI Cab Chassis, to give it its full title, will retail with a manufacturer’s retail list price of $119,900.
