New date for TMA conference announced

Event now scheduled for September 14

Following a postponement earlier in the week due to the latest Victorian lockdown, the Tractor and Machinery Association of Australia’s (TMA) annual conference now has a new date - September 14, 2021.

The TMA said it is keen to postpone instead of cancelling the event due to overwhelming demand from the industry for a get-together after COVID-19 wreaked havoc on the agricultural field days and events calendar last year and this year.

The theme for the upcoming conference remains the same – “Towards 2030” where TMA and speakers will look at and talk about challenges ahead for the agricultural industry as the TMA seeks to align with the NFF (National Farmers Federation) led goal of $100 billion of farm gate production by 2030.

Speakers confirmed to date include:

  • Tony Maher - President of the National Farmers Federation (NFF)
  • Mick Keogh- Deputy Chair Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC)
  • Justin Smirk - Senior Economist Westpac
  • Alan Kirsten - Managing Director Agriview
  • Sam Kekovich- Australia's "Lambassador" who will be in charge of after-dinner entertainment.

TMA said those who bought tickets to the event originally scheduled for July 20 should already have received their refunds, but if they wish to still attend the event on September 14, they will need to re-purchase new tickets.

“Having been forced to postpone our event due to various statewide COVID lockdowns, we are moving forward optimistically having been pleasantly surprised with the demand shown to date,” said TMA executive director, Gary Northover.

“Thanks for all the support to date and we look forward to seeing you in Melbourne.”

The location for the conference has not changed, which is Hyatt Place Melbourne in Essendon Fields, Victoria.
