Sugar cane, vegetable and cotton growers will appreciate the heavier frame, bigger axles and swivel oil bath bearings of Tatu's newly landed semi-stubble wheel offset disc.
The Brazilian manufactured machine is designed for soil levelling, breaking clods and incorporating stubble all in one pass.

AgQuip debut
Australian distributors Serafin Machinery will debut the Tatu 7010 GCRO 44-plate heavy-duty offset disc at the AgQuip and Henty machinery field days, with in-field demonstrations to follow.
Serafin sales manager Rodney Dunn said the updated 44-plate model included a heavier frame coupled with larger axles and a new bearing system.
Tata says maintenance will be kept to a minimum because the oil bath bearing assemblies are fitted with tapered roller blade and duo-cone seals.
"The beauty of all the off-set and tandem disc ploughs we import from Baldan and Tatu, is they use the oil bath bearings," Mr Dunn said.
"They are pretty much zero maintenance – no need to grease them daily or weekly.
"The Tatu oil bath bearing has a built-in swivel to ensure there is no movement in the axle at all, further increasing the life of the bearing."
The 7010 has round heat treated alloy steel gang axles that measure 1.75 inches thick.
The heat-treated boron steel disc blades are notched front and rear, and available in 28 or 30-inch diameter.
"There is a cast-iron spool spacer between the discs – small in diameter but also very heavy," Mr Dunn said.
"The additional weight allows the machine to penetrate harder soil conditions and the small diameter of the spacer stops the units from effectively bottoming-out.
"That means longer life from the discs – the machine weighs six and a half tonne for 44 plates so it is quite heavy."

Easy transportation
Boasting a working width of 5.9m, the 7010 has folding wings for easy transportation at 3.5m and a transport height of 4m.
The 7010 is equipped with adjustable gang axles of 18, 20 and 22 degrees.
"The standard 400/60 x 15.5 tyres give the machine flotation and are well load rated," Mr Dunn said.
"The axles are bigger than what we have used in the past at 1.75 inch.
"It has a very strong, fully gusseted frame – the quality of the framework is exceptional."
"The 28-inch x 7.5mm or 30-inch x 8mm discs are on a 270mm spacing and have heavy-duty adjustable blade scrapers.
The 7010 has two hydraulic cylinders and hoses ram stops for depth control and transport lock.
It is fitted with an adjustable swing tongue and drawbar jackstand as standard.
A rear-mounted hitch with hydraulic outlet enables the use of other implements, including chains or a hydraulic roller. There is also a rear hook for a levelling bar.

"We sell a lot of similar machines up through Queensland for the sugar cane and vegetable growers, but this machine is stronger and heavier," Mr Dunn said.
"We are estimating the power requirement at 240hp plus.
"Its advantages are the heavier weight, bigger axles, strength of the frame, hydraulic adjust on the hitch, and swivel oil bath bearings.
"It is a well thought out and finished, strongly built and robust machine.
"We have brought in larger models of this machine up to 60 plate, and sold locally to cotton farmers – this is ideal for cotton, sugar cane and vegetable growers looking for a strong machine that is easy to get around.
"With these machines, we do have stock available of units with the 30-inch discs and we will be adding more in the next three months.’’
The Tatu 7010 GCRO is priced at $62,000 plus GST.
