New Holland adds horsepower kick with new T7 XD family

Three new models producing over 350hp for large-scale operations

New Holland has launched a completely new sub-family of T7 tractors at Agritechnica 2025, with the three high-horsepower 'XD' models engineered to perform everything from ballasted heavy draft work to high payload haulage and combination front/rear implement tasks.

The 360hp T7.360 XD, 390hp T7.390 XD and 435hp T7.440 XD are designed around a Stage V 8.7-litre FPT Cursor 9 six-cylinder engine mounted on a structural sump to minimise vibration and eliminate the need for support rails. The Cursor 9 features an electronic variable-geometry turbocharger and intercooling to maximise fuel efficiency.

The 680-litre fuel tank on the XDs has 13 per cent more capacity than the T7 HD tractors, while the Cursor engine’s service interval is 750 hours. Peak torque is achieved at 1400rpm, and the engine idles at 650rpm to conserve fuel.

“The T7 XD will extend the compact design, versatility, and excellent power-to-weight ratio characteristics of our T7 family into the high horsepower segment”, said New Holland T7 Global Product Manager, Richard Hollins.

“The new range will appeal to customers looking for that all-round capability, from heavy field work, demanding PTO or hydraulic tasks, to high-speed haulage; the T7 XD has the features that can deliver this.”

Standard on all the T7 XD models is a new version of New Holland’s Auto Command CVT transmission, allowing a maximum speed of 60km/h.

Other features include a 3190mm wheelbase, oil-cooled inboard front brakes, multi-stage engine retardation, New Holland’s trailer braking system to reduce the risk of a jack-knife situation, and a new Terraglide independent front axle suspension to enhance driver comfort.

Also available for the first time on a New Holland tractor is an integral central tyre inflation system, allowing tyres to be used at their lowest recommended pressures in the field and then rapidly reinflated from the cab for road travel.

A new compact front linkage is fully integrated to ensure implements are as close-coupled as possible for excellent tractor balance and manoeuvrability. Lift capacity is 6100kg. At the rear, lift capacity is eight per cent more than the T7 HD, at 11,942kg.

The T7 XD tractors feature an enhanced cab with an upgraded frame and suspension that isolates the cab from any chassis movements. Visibility is improved thanks to a 260-degree front wiper sweep and new drawbar area lights built into the rear fenders.

‘Walk in’ steps provide easy access and exit, adjacent to a hand wash tank and integrated external toolbox storage, complemented by a large in-cab overhead locker. Cab noise level is 68 decibels.

New Holland Intelligence, the new generation software that replaces PLM Intelligence, enables monitoring, recording and instant two-way remote transfer of operating and field data to the New Holland FieldOps online portal.

No word yet on Australian availability or pricing for the T7 XD range.
