With the new T4 F/N/V specialty tractor series, farmers won’t have to deal with smashed avocadoes or crushed nuts anymore, New Holland says.
The updated range will incorporate compact SpecialCabs™ as well as additional power, performance, and productivity features including more powerful hydraulics and PTO.
During trials in South Australia’s Riverland in almonds, citrus and avocadoes, the T4 F/N/V demonstrated the ability to get up to 107hp to the ground using the automatic 4WD traction control system, coupled with the SuperSteer™ 4WD front axle, according to New Holland.
The new SpecialCab brings the machine height to as low as 1920mm and the width at the top of cab to 870mm, making the T4 F/N/V series the most compact in its class, New Holland adds.
The compact dimensions enable the tractor to pass under the lowest branches in narrow groves without interfering with the valuable crop.
SpecialCab also offers a high level of cab filtration and climate control for optimum operator comfort, New Holland says.
“The combination of T4 Specialty and SpecialCab has been widely used in table grape applications in recent years, where low trellis height is an issue,” says New Holland Product Manager for Horticulture and Viticulture, John Vagnarelli.
“On the back of this success there has been increasing interest shown in other segments such as almonds, citrus and avocado where a compact profile is critical.”
Manufactured in Italy, New Holland’s model T4 F/N/V series has also been enhanced to offer more power and performance, more powerful hydraulics and a new front linkage and Power Take-Off (PTO) package.
Following on from the benchmark speciality TN Tractor series, the new T4 F/N/V models are precision made to the same modular build concept. This ensures each model can be tailored to meet specialist needs.
The new machines are powered by engines that comply with Tier 4A emission standards with fuel tank capacity up to 99 litres and service intervals of 600 hours.
The added length of the wheelbase with Supersteer creates a more comfortable ride while still achieving tight turns, New Holland says. The patented 2-stage steering mechanism is capable of achieving a maximum turn angle of 76°.
Engine Speed Management (ESM) comes standard with the T4 F/N/V tractors to precisely fuel the engine to meet prevailing loads while maintaining a constant speed, which is ideal for applications such as spraying.
The operator can also program ESM to ‘remember’ two engine speeds, allowing the operator to select separate speeds for work and turns at the end of a row with ease.
In addition to the new SpecialCab offering, the traditional T4 F/N/V with LP CAB and ROPS continue to be sold across Australia and New Zealand with power ranging from 74 to 107hp and minimum width of 1061mm to suit all applications and terrain.
