New Holland T6 tractor launch video

New mid-range models come with a bunch of new features including more transmission options and a cool new look

If New Holland was hoping to stand out from the crowd in the competitive tractor market, it has certainly achieved that with its new T6 rig.

Featuring a ‘midnight blue’ metallic paint job, its T6.175 model took centre stage at the company’s stand at the AgQuip field days earlier this year where it was officially launched.

The special paint job is part of its Blue Power Edition package which also includes a leather seat in the cab, special decals on the exterior of the tractor as well as on the seat.

The new T6 range offers five models starting from the 4-cylinder T6.145 offering 115hp, all the way up to the 6-cylinder T6.180 offering a rated 145hp and a maximum of 175hp.

“The new T6 will slot perfectly into the market alongside our proven T6000 range,” said New Holland Product Segment Manager for Mixed Farming & Livestock, Ben Mitchell.

“We can offer a variety of models now to suit our diverse range of customers, from farmers that simply want good value for hp, in an easy to use package, right up to contractors that want the highest level of technology available.”

There will be two transmission options available in the T6 range – Auto Command CVT transmission or Dynamic Command 24x24 Semi-Powershift model.

The Auto Command model is the premium model in the range featuring exclusive Auto Command CVT transmission, electronic remote valves and advanced joystick for precise front-end loader control through electronic mid-mount valves.

It also features ISOBUS III which allows implements such as New Holland’s IntelliBale equipped round balers to talk to and even control the movements of the tractor.

“The round baler tells the tractor when to stop, eject the bale, and move off again, with the simple press of a button – automating a repetitive process saving operator fatigue and increasing efficiencies,” Mitchell explained.

The Dynamic Command model “drives like a CVT model”, according to New Holland, but has the operating features of a semi-powershift model to offer operators the best of both worlds.

“The unique feature with this model is the Dual Clutch Dynamic Command transmission,” Mitchell said. “It has two shafts in the transmission, one for even gears, one for odd gears.  As you step up through the speeds, the next gear is ‘pre-selected’ on the corresponding odd or even shaft, so it offers a smooth change.”

Both of new T6 models feature New Holland’s advanced joystick – allowing the operator to shift through gear / speed ranges whilst operating the front end loader.

There are also programmable buttons on the joystick allowing ISOBUS functions to be programmed to suit the individual operator.

Other standard features on the T6 range include LED lights, Dynamic Comforts air suspension seat and cab suspension.

“Many of the features on the T6 have been inspired by its bigger brother, the well renowned T7 Series” Mitchell said.
