New Holland has launched its new flagship T7 Heavy Duty (HD) tractor to the European market in a virtual launch event last week which highlighted the brand’s vision of agriculture 4.0 and its commitment to making intelligent farming technologies widely available to farmers.
New Holland said the T7 HD answers to customer demands for a roomier cabin, more comfort and more connectivity in their tractors.
“We asked our customers what they expected from their future tractor and developed the new generation T7 HD based on their demands, and it delivers everything they dreamed of,” says New Holland Agriculture Vice President Europe, Sean Lennon.
“We designed the brand-new Horizon Ultra cab to give them the best working experience with all the space, comfort, quality finish they asked for, and the quietest cab on the market.
“On top of this, the next-generation PLM Intelligence will make it easier for them to access our intelligent farming solutions which deliver substantial added value in terms of better decision making and accurate execution, boosting their efficiency and profitability.”
New Holland said it has designed the Horizon Ultra cab from the ground up to meet customers’ expectations.
“The T7 HD might seem the same from outside, with the same compact, stylish appearance, but it’s totally new inside. Just two per cent of parts are carry-overs from the previous model,” explains New Holland Agriculture Tractors Global Product Management Leader, Oscar Baroncelli.
“It is more connected than ever and sets a new record as the quietest in the industry with just 66 dBA. We believe it is going to transform our customers’ experience when they work in the field.”
While the components in the cab are entirely new, the interior layout has been kept the same as the other T7 models to offer customers a sense of familiarity, New Holland added. The cab has been lengthened to provide additional room for the passenger and more floor space.
Ample storage space is also now available on the T7 HD with a 30-litre storage space behind the seat; a 12-litre capacity cooled compartment; covered storage behind the passenger seat with a USB charging point and a mains voltage socket; open storage trays on the right side of the cab, and a netted storage bin within the roof bezel.
New Holland said the redesign has further improved visibility to the front and down to the rear hitch and implement. Standard cameras allow operators to keep a safe watch around the tractor. A new work light package with up to 24 LED lights ensures visibility around the tractor.
Controls come in the form of New Holland’s new SideWinder Ultra armrest and IntelliView 12-inch display. The controls can be configured to match the operator’s preferences.
A new, industry-first CentreView display placed in the centre of the steering wheel presents operators with key operating information such as travel speed and fuel level right in the operator’s line of sight.
A new automatic climate control system with zone selection has 35 per cent more capacity than the previous model to maintain a comfortable temperature in all seasons, New Holland said.
The Auto Comfort seat features lateral suspension and a climate control system that extracts moisture on hot days or warms on cold mornings. Operators can sync their phones with the screens in the cab so they can accept calls or read messages etc via the screen and operate it using a button on the armrest.
The T7 HD features New Holland’s next-generation PLM Intelligence – the company’s precision farming technology designed to assist farmers in planning their operations, manage the performance of their machines in real time, and achieve maximum precision and efficiency.
“These new developments are the result of New Holland’s strategy to be more and more connected to our customers,” says New Holland Brand President, Carlo Lambro.
“Servitisation and digitalisation are the gates to the future. They have made possible to integrate the physical presence at the wheel with an array of digital services that mean we can always be at our customer’s side, helping them to get the job done.”
The next-generation PLM Intelligence is a new electronic architecture that will be adopted in all New Holland next-generation equipment, so customers will find the same logic when switching machines and easily access data needed to get the job done.
The launch of the next-gen tech forms part of New Holland’s strategy to integrate digital technologies to deliver a smart and connected agriculture.
The new tech includes traditional precision farming applications aimed at making operators' lives easier while optimising yield and input costs; solutions based on connectivity and monitoring focused on improving the machine’s productivity; and cloud-based solutions based on data analysis and planning to facilitate farm management decisions, New Holland said.
Through the MyNewHolland App, customers can register their machine and retrieve its technical information, and access the MyPLMConnect portal, where they can manage their fleet and farm data in a single environment. The MyPLMConnect system enables farmers to receive dynamic information in real time from individual machines at work in the field and analyse the data to make informed decisions.
New Holland is also introducing the new PLM Cygnus receiver, which is core to the enhanced autoguidance architecture on its tractors featuring PLM Intelligence. It provides reliable position, compensating for terrain variations, and helps acquire guidance lines very quickly, delivering accurate and reliable guidance, New Holland said.
The receiver also supports New Holland’s satellite-based correction sources, in addition to the RTK correction distributed through the brand’s PLM RTK+ network.
A Remote Assistance tool allows dealers to conduct remote diagnostics on machines when required to help customers minimise downtime. The machine is also connected to New Holland’s Control Room, which alerts the dealer about error codes, suggests solutions, and can even prevent possible failures.
New Holland said the new T7 HD model is expected to be available in the Australian and New Zealand markets in 2022.
