Ritchie Bros brings auction to Moree

Global auctioneer will have over 190 pieces of ag equipment up for bids in northern NSW on Saturday, March 18

For the very first time, leading auction house Ritchie Bros. will be bringing its agricultural machinery auction to the rural town of Moree (NSW).

With over 190 items consigned to the sale, the event is shaping up to be the largest unreserved agricultural auction of the year in Australia, according to the auction giant.

"With extensive marketing in place to attract agricultural buyers from around the country, we are expecting a huge crowd come auction day," says Ritchie Bros. APAC Marketing Manager, David Fanning.

The company holds regular auctions at its permanent sites in Brisbane and Geelong (VIC) in Australia, as well as at 40 sites around the world, all year long. However, following an increasing number of requests from rural buyers and sellers for an auction to be held at a more accessible site, Ritchie Bros. decided to bring the show to the masses.

"Logistically holding auctions in regional locations like Moree will better service our agricultural customers," says Ritchie Bros. Regional Operation Manager, Andrew Chapman.

"By bringing the auctions to them, we’re providing an additional sales channel to farmers wanting to sell equipment, as well as a new source of supply for those wishing to buy."

With sowing and spraying season just around the corner, Ritchie Bros. says the event presents a great opportunity for farmers and machinery dealers alike to buy and sell their equipment.

Customers can expect to see a wide range of machinery up for bids on the day, including tractors, combine harvesters, sprayers and more.

As with every Ritchie Bros. unreserved auction, every item will be sold to the highest bidder on auction day, regardless of price. There will be no minimum bids or reserve prices.

"We’ve also just confirmed that the Federal Member for Parkes, and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mark Coulton will be opening the event, in conjunction with the Mayor of Moree Shire, Katrina Humphries," David Fanning adds.

There will also be a BBQ for attendees to enjoy on the day, with all proceeds going to the local community.

The auction will commence at 10am on March 18 at the Moree Showgrounds.

Farmers or dealers who are interested but will not be able to attend the auction in person can bid online at rbauction.com.au, or via Ritchie Bros' mobile app.
