John Deere has announced a range of updates and enhancements to its 2027 X9 and S7 combines.
Featuring the latest in predictive and automated technologies, the updates will help deliver successful harvests in more diverse conditions and across more crop types, while minimising the level of intervention required by the operator.
Harvest settings automation, which automatically sets concave clearance, fan speed, rotor speed, sieve clearance and chaffer clearance, has now been expanded to include oats, lentils, peas, rye, triticale and sunflower crops.

Other 2027 features include green crop detection, which uses a highly trained algorithm to accurately detect green crops within an otherwise-mature stand; new half-length concaves; factory pre-cut openings in the clean grain elevator suitable for HarvestLab mounting; optional satellite connectivity in areas with limited or no mobile connectivity; a new power folding ladder option; a new unloading auger on the X9; and a new 550-bushel grain tank capacity.

“These updates address some of the most important factors that can influence success at harvest time, including getting crops off as quickly as possible and supporting less experienced operators in the field, to optimise time use and consistency,” John Deere Production and Precision Ag Marketing Manager, Royce Bell, said.
In addition to the 2027 combines, John Deere has also updated its front-end equipment, including a new 27-row folding corn head on 508mm spacing. Corn head automation, which automatically controls deck plate spacing and back shaft speed, will be an optional feature.
