Griffith (NSW)-based ag implement manufacturer, Serafin Machinery, has announced the release of its new Ultisow high lift seeder frame to complement its SB2019 row units released in March 2019.
According to Serafin Machinery, the frame was built based on customer feedback and incorporates several key features addressing some of Serafin's customers’ concerns.
The main feature of the frame is its ability to hydraulically lift approximately 1000mm higher than the standard bar to allow for easier access to the row units. The operator now has 1600mm of under-bar clearance to safely and comfortably adjust or maintain the row units.
Another key feature of Serafin’s Ultisow high-lift frame is the ability to have either two or three ranks of row units incorporated into the frame. Previously, a standard Serafin Ultisow could achieve 158mm spacing over two rows but the rank spacing was very tight which made it hard for operators to work on the row units.
By adding an optional third rank of units, a narrower row spacing of down to 150mm can be achieved without compromising trash handling while having enough space around the units for easier maintenance and adjustments.
To give the frame enough strength and weight for proper soil penetration, Serafin Machinery used strong 9mm thick steel which has been powder coated using a 3-stage process to build the frame.
It comes in either 9m or 12m sowing widths and has 3m wheel centres for customers on controlled traffic farming (CTF) operations. The frame has been designed to work with or without a hydraulic rolling bar.
