Silvan Australia and Tasmanian John Deere dealership Midland Tractors have signed an exclusive dealership agreement for the sales and support of all Silvan spraying and agricultural machinery products in Tasmania.
The dealership's head office in Longford, situated about 20 minutes from Launceston, services the Island state's north-east, central and midlands regions. Two other branches in Latrobe and Montrose focus on the north-west and southern parts of the state respectively.
Silvan's Tasmanian Territory Manager, Chris Tait, says the agreement reflects both parties' mutual desire to provide the best possible service to the island's expanding rural sector.
"With a sales force of seven personnel, a workshop team of 22 in-house and infield technicians complemented by the parts department team of six spare parts staff, their [Midland Tractors] objective is to comprehensively cover the sales, servicing and parts needs of the product ranges they represent," he says.
Midland Tractors also has a sales van on the road stocked with on-farm merchandise that covers the entire state.
As part of the agreement Midland Tractors has appointed Silvan product specialist Richard Palmer, who will be working out of the dealership's Longford Branch.
Midland Tractors Sales Manager Leigh Coonan says both companies are excited about the opportunities this exclusive agreement will present.
"We are the state-wide John Deere dealer, so partnering with Silvan gives us a range of products that will effectively offer the customer a 'one stop shop' solution for all their farming needs," he says.
"We have just completed a major redevelopment of our Longford dealership premises creating eight new service bays, a comprehensive spare parts warehouse and dedicated showroom."
