JCB has brought six of its new agricultural spec telescopic handlers to Australia, which according to the company offer significant efficiency and performance upgrades.

The new Loadall Series III telehandlers comprises of six models. The base model 532-60 has a lift capacity of 3.0 tonne at 6.0m height while the range-topping 560-80 has a 5.5 tonne lift capacity and a maximum lift height of 7.9m.

The range is available in three variants namely Agri, Agri Super and Agri Pro, which dictate engine HP, transmission, standard tyre and light configurations.

Power is provided by JCB’s EcoMAX engine that meets global Tier 3 or Stage 3 engine emission standards. Therefore, the machine does not feature expensive exhaust after treatment systems like SCR or a DPF, hence helping farmers lower their running and maintenance costs.

Power on the Loadall Series III series ranges from 109hp to 145hp, and fuel tank capacity has increased to 169 litres to support longer working days.

An auto reverse hydraulic cooling fan is standard across the range, cleaning the cooling pack every 15 minutes. The operator can also manually purge the system when working in dusty conditions.

All new models have a top speed of 40km/h. Transmissions are power-matched to these engines starting with the four-speed manual JCB Powershift and the new 40km/h TorqueLock4 transmission providing direct-drive torque converter lock-up in top gear.

The 40km/h six-speed JCB Auto shift transmission provides auto or manual shifting control and direct-drive TorqueLock in the top two gears for efficient towing, while the JCB DualTech VT provides the best of both worlds by combining hydrostatic and powershift elements in one transmission.

Command Plus cab

All JCB Loadall Series III telehandlers feature the new Command Plus cab which is much quieter and provides operators with all-round visibility, plus more dedicated storage space, improved ventilation, and new controls and instruments, JCB says.

The company says the cab has been designed solely with agricultural operators and owner-drivers in mind, following international end-user consultations including feedback from Australian farmers.

It is 50 per cent quieter than the previous design with a best-in-class 69dBA rating, 12 per cent larger inside, and has 60 per cent more dedicated storage space, including a unique lift-out bin behind the seat for documents, tools, food and drink, JCB says.

Operator visibility upwards to a raised boom and attachment has been transformed by eliminating the cab roof front cross-member to effectively increase the glazed area by 14 per cent so operators can place or retrieve loads more confidently.

The sunblind is integrated into the cab frame and allows the operator to adjust through the full range of the windscreen. A large pantograph front wiper and two roof-mounted wipers sweep 92 per cent of the curved windscreen glass, taking visibility to a new level.

A selectable recirculation function now comes standard with the Loadall Series III machines to reduce dust loading on the cab filter and ingress into the cab.

A wide door opening and adjustable push-away steering column with working position memory make it easy for operators to enter and exit the cab.

The larger 7-inch tablet-like digital instrument display is attached to the windscreen glass and all models are fitted as standard with a Bluetooth radio, integrated microphone and speakers for hands-free calls and entertainment.

All models feature seat mounted joysticks as standard, with an integrated control pod for all the machines' controls. Operators can adjust the machine settings using the new rotary dial at the end of the armrest. Air seats are standard across the range and the Agri Pro is standard with a half-leather, heated and ventilated seat.

The Loadall Series III also features JCB’s smart hydraulics package that includes regenerative hydraulics, bucket control, auxiliary constant flow and auxiliary venting. Operators are now able to vent the auxiliary from inside the cab or using an external button.

Variant dependant, JCB’s Smooth Ride System can be used in three modes; On, Auto (above 7km/h) or Off. The machine will also remember the last setting when keyed off.  To improve operator convenience and safety, all models are standard with electric pin isolation for the quick hitch.
