Tractor of the Year finalists announced

Fendt, Case IH and Deutz-Fahr are among the big names nominated for an award this year

The prestigious Tractor of the Year awards has kicked off for 2017 with organisers releasing a list of shortlisted models across four categories.

In May this year, 13 tractor manufacturers and a judging panel comprising 24 journalists across Europe converged in Bologna, Italy, for the 'Tractor of the Year 2017: Let the challenge begin' event.

Tyre manufacturer Trelleborg is once again the official sponsor of the awards this year and has signed on to sponsor the event for the next four years.

"This event is a unique occasion for the tractor manufacturers to present their product innovations in front of the biggest independent European network focused on the development of agricultural mechanisation," says Tractor of The Year Awards chairman, Fabio Zammaretti.

"The popularity of the Tractor of the Year awards has grown significantly over the past couple of years, and this is demonstrated by the fact that every year a number of new brands participate in this event in a bid to become the new Tractor of the Year," says Trelleborg Agricultural and Forestry Tires president, Paolo Pompei.
