The new tractor market enjoyed a better month of sales in February with just over 800 units sold, compared to a much more subdued 550 units in January 2025, the Tractor and Machinery Association of Australia (TMA) reported.
This brings the year-to-date (YTD) figure to 10 per cent below 2024 in terms of unit sold but in retail turnover terms, the figure is around 29 per cent down, which the TMA attributed to a drop in large tractor sales.

On another note, sales of combine harvesters bounced back in February as manufacturers and dealers seek to stimulate the market after a subdued 2024, the TMA reported.
Baler sales were steady for the month but sit 39 per cent behind last year, while sales of out-front mowers sank again to be down 30 per cent compared to last year.
