Valtra announces sleek limited-edition tractors

Special T series tractors with red metallic exterior and black rims released to commemorate 70th anniversary

Finnish tractor brand, Valtra, is celebrating its 70th birthday in 2021 and has launched a limited-edition tractor range to commemorate the milestone.

These anniversary models are available in Valtra’s T Series (T174e to T254) and will be sold worldwide.

They feature a deep red metallic paint job reminiscent of Valtra’s roots 70 years ago. The red colour is also highlighted in the details of the tractor, including in the stitching of the leather interior and the interior light.

They also feature black rims and a stainless steel Limited Redition badge.

The limited-edition tractors were announced at a virtual press conference last week to celebrate the company's significant milestone and to look ahead at its future plans.

Customer-centric

Valtra started out as Valmet back in 1951, with tractor production taking place in Jyväskylä, Finland. The first model was the Valmet 15 that, as the name implies, had 15 horsepower and was designed to replace a horse on a small farm.

From the very beginning, Valtra had customer needs at the heart of everything they do. Its tractors have been designed from the start to be able to take on a range of tasks, with ground clearance high enough for forestry work, yet still ideal for road maintenance tasks. Later, Valtra put a lot of thought into cabin ergonomics and comfort to make it possible for farmers to work longer, safer, and more comfortably.

Valtra was Valmet, once upon a time

In the early 1990s, no tractor was manufactured to fill dealership floors. Instead, they were made to order to suit each customer’s specific requirements. Valtra employs a significant number of employees with strong agricultural backgrounds to truly understand the needs of farmers.

In more recent times, customer demand also prompted the company to deliver some of its key technologies and products such as the award-winning SmartTouch armrest and Unlimited Studio that allows customers to tailor make tractors to suit their own needs and tastes.

In 2021 and beyond, Valtra will be focusing on a range of challenges facing its customers such as the EU Green Deal, global environmental standards and changes in weather and farming conditions to continue helping farmers with their all-important jobs.

“Reductions in fertilisers and spraying and the need to improve soil productivity are drivers for precision farming which in turn improves profitability,” said Valtra Director for Sales and Marketing, Mikko Lehikoinen.

“Our customers need smart machines and seamless data transfer between machines and farm management software. Valtra solutions  –  such as SmartTouch, Valtra Guide auto-guidance and smart farming services such as Valtra Connect – help farmers achieve these goals.”

Expanded distribution network

In order to continue helping customers, one needs to establish a sound distribution network for efficient parts supply and servicing. Therefore, Valtra is continuing to expand its network and dealer services.

”Valtra’s sales and service staff are working with new digital tools that enhance customer experience and with which dealers can now prevent tractor service needs, activate precision farming services remotely or configure a tractor with service and financing options tailored to the exact need of the farm,” Lehikoinen said.

“The customer can also choose to activate additional features on their SmartTouch machine – the tractor’s specifications can be expanded and upgraded depending on the customer’s smart farming requirements.”

Valtra's SmartTouch armrest

The introduction of the new digital tools has started at selected Valtra dealers in Germany, France and Great Britain in 2020 with development and implementation of the tools across Europe continuing this year.

Valtra is also increasing its footsteps across multiple regions this year with the appointment of new distributors in France, the United Kingdom and Iraq.

”Valtra has become an attractive choice for many distributors and we are determined to take steps to grow,” Lehikoinen said.
