Sprayer manufacturer HARDI Australia has given its product range a refresh, by adding new models to the stable as well as updating existing units with new technology and features.
HARDI Australia unveiled the brand new products during a launch event last week at its headquarters in SA, where over 100 dealers and members of the media were in attendance.
The theme of the night was “The Evolution Continues”, to reflect HARDI’s ongoing commitment to constantly evolve its offerings to meet changing customer needs.

One of the key new products premiered at the launch was the RUBICON 6500 self-propelled sprayer, which is based on its bigger brother, the RUBICON 9000 launched last year.
According to Steve Lancaster, HARDI Australia’s self-propelled product manager, development of the RUBICON 6500 was steered by increasing market demand for mid-sized tanks.
“We’ve evolved the RUBICON platform with a 6500-litre stainless steel tank, added the option for a 330 to 370hp Cummins engine, and the tyres changed to a 480/95 R54,” Lancaster says.
“But it’s the same running platform, same chassis, same override suspension, and ActivAir technology currently used on the 9000-litre model.
“The technology of the machine includes full ISOBUS, DanFoss hydraulics through electronics, and also it’s fully integrated with a Cummins electronic system.”
ActivAir is HARDI’s section control function which allows instantaneous spraying at the nozzles at the right pressure.
When a solenoid is activated to turn the nozzles on, air pressure opens the non-drip valves and the nozzles start spraying. When the solenoid is deactivated to turn the nozzles off, the valves are held closed under spring tension.
When the nozzles are off, the fluid system continuously recirculates the spray mix through the boom tubes at high volume to ensure the boom is primed before spraying starts.
The HARDI RUBICON 6500 is available with a 36.5m or 48.5m POMMIER aluminium boom, as well as a 3 to 4m hydraulic track width adjustable axle.
It is available to order now, with delivery expected to be in the latter half of 2017 and early 2018. Pricing for the unit will be around $A600,000.

HARDI’s tried and tested SARITOR self-propelled sprayer is now available with a stainless steel tank, increased power, increased capacity and ActivAir technology.
It also comes with a three to 3.5m fixed axle.
“We’ve just given the machine a new lease on life,” Lancaster explains.
“We’ve taken the best parts of the machine and evolved them to make the machine even better.”
Other features of the SARITOR 62 Active include a 36m TERRAFORCE Boom with AutoTerrain, 300hp Cummins engine, and a Sauer H1 Bent Axis transmission.
The new unit is available to order now, for a 2018 delivery.

HARDI Australia has also updated the COMMANDER trailed sprayer range with the addition of the ActivAir technology, which utilises the COMMANDER’s on-board air supply to instantaneously open and close the non-drip nozzles during spraying.
The ActivAir section control function is now optional across all COMMANDER models.
And HARDI Australia has now lifted the lid on its MEGA three-point linkage sprayers. The lift mounted range features a ground-up design offering farmers ultimate efficiency, productivity and value for money.

In this brand new design, a large rinse tank is installed in the space between the tank and the tractor. This brings the centre of gravity closer to the tractor in combination with the known short center section, making the MEGA shorter to the tractor.
The design allows easy access for cleaning and coupling purposes, so farmers can hop in the tractor and get the job done without wasting too much time on the ground.
A range of tanks with capacities up to 2200 litres are included in the MEGA sprayer range. It features a chassis built with high-tensile steel for durability and is built to withstand rough terrains and high driving speeds.
Both new product ranges are available for order now.
