Aussie farm implement specialist, Howard Australia, has released its Nugget line of smaller slashers, aimed at the lifestyle market.
The Nugget L series 120 and 135 slashers made their public debut at the recent FarmWorld field days, held in the Gippsland region in Victoria.
Alongside Howard's entire range of slashers, the Nugget L series has been designed and made in Korea with input from Howard Australia.
They come in widths of 120cm and 135cm, and can be towed by compact tractors with power outputs between 45 to 50hp.
"It's a very well-priced slasher for the market, and has been developed with all the safety requirements," says Howard Australia's Trevor Telford.
"The Nugget L series slashers are all hot dip galvanised so they're rust resistant. They also feature a smooth top design so you won't have any grass residue sitting on top (after slashing) and they're easily cleaned."
Chain backstays fitted to the units allow them to follow the contours of the ground for a more effective slashing operation.
Further up the product line is the Nugget 150 and 180 slashers which, according to Telford, are more suited for use on larger properties and farms.
"We are also looking at developing a Nugget 210 in the near future, which is a 70ft unit, so that's something to look forward to," he says.
"This (Nugget L series) is a new machine and we haven't released it fully to the market yet, but we expect it to sell very well when we release it this slashing season."
