Krone unveils new EasyCut mower conditioners

German hay and forage specialist Krone has launched two new EasyCut trailed-centre mower conditioners into the Australian market.

The EasyCut TC400 and TC500 feature working widths of 4m and 5m respectively, and come with conditioning rollers to promote faster drying of crops.

"Our current mower conditioner range (in Australia) stops at 3.2m, and then we have the self-propelled big M, as well as the triple combination mowers which widths go up to 9m and 10m, so this (EasyCut TC range) hopefully fills the gap and can satisfy our customers," says Krone Australia senior product manager, Lars Pasedag.

A range of conditioner options is available with the EasyCut TC line-up, including steel conditioners, rubber conditioners, and V-tyne flower conditioners. Customers can also opt to buy the machines without the conditioning rollers.

"Steel conditioner machines are getting more and more popular, because they can handle rocks a little bit better," Pasedag says.

Both the steel and rubber conditioner rollers are 250mm in diameter, and feature wide lugs to effectively crimp the crop after mowing for faster drying.

The new range, in particular the EasyCut TC500 model, recently made an appearance at the 2017 Wimmera Machinery Field Days after being put through its paces at customer demonstration days across regional South Australia and Victoria.

According to Pasedag, the new range has been very well received by farmers and Krone is now ready to start selling the machines in Australia.

Both EasyCut TC mower conditioners carry a range of smart features to offer a better cut and drying of crops.

"The Krone cutterbar has a fully welded design which gives the cutterbar a lot of rigidity and a very sturdy built," Pasedag says.

Its innovative SafeCut system prevents the cutterbar from jamming up and breaking down when a large object hits it. When a disc comes into contact with a foreign object, a roll pin within the sprocket will shear and cause the disc to spin up and out of the way of neighbouring discs, hence preventing impact between discs.

Another benefit of the EasyCut TC mower conditioner range, according to Pasedag, is its transportability. An optional transport kit can be purchased with the units to allow for safe and easy towing down the road.

"The transport kit features a clever hydraulic system that swings the mower 90 degrees sideways down to a width of under 3m, so you don't have to transport the machine down the road at 4m or 5m, which is a lot safer," Pasedag explains.

"For $A12,000 extra, you can get the transport kit for the EasyCut TC400 or TC500 as an option."

The mower conditioner range comes standard with a two-point hitch. Customers can opt for a drawbar attachment if required.

Pricing for the Krone EasyCut TC mower conditioner range starts at $A71,000 including GST.
