Landini rolls out Super 8860 tractor

Popular 8860 utility tractor given a facelift, now features a more refined finish and improved ergonomics and controls

Italian tractor brand Landini's Super 8860 tractor has made its Australian debut at the 2017 Farm World field days in Victoria.

The utility tractor is an upgraded version of the original 8860 model that has been in Australia for a while, according to Landini's Australian distributor, Inlon.

"Many farmers in Australia will have owned the 8860 model, and they will remember it having a more square type finish," says Inlon Sales and Marketing Manager, Gary Surman.

"This is the new Super Series that has some new features and new finish."

Some of the new features include a more rounded and sloping bonnet design for better visibility; new rounded fenders; guard extensions; shuttle shift lever; and redesigned controls for improved ergonomics.

However, the tractor has retained some of its tried and tested components, including the Perkins engine.

"Under the hood is the legendary 4.4-litre Perkins engine, which has been a proven performer throughout Australia for many years," Surman says.

Weighing over three tonnes, the Landini Super 8860 is well equipped to handle front loading and other utility applications, he adds.

"It has a very high lift capacity and is equipped with auxiliary lift ramps to give us that extra lift."

There are two transmission choices for customers – a 12 by 12 or a 16 by 16 with creeper gear for use in areas such as in the vegetable sector where creeper speed is required.

"It's a simple, easy to use tractor with all mechanical levers, so anybody can hop on and off this tractor and operate it with ease," Surman says.

Other standard features include a two-post Roll Over Protection Structure (ROPS), air suspension seat and adjustable steering wheel.

"This tractor is suited for utility work, hay work, bale lifting and more. Customers can also opt for high clearance and narrower wheels for vegetable applications," Surman adds.

"It is for people who need that extra horsepower, the grunt and weight to be able to handle all the heavier applications."
