Released earlier this year, the Lely RP 160 V range replaces the previous RP 415 and RP 445 series.
Some of the changes, according to Allen, include increased serviceability, improved net wrap system and new bale chamber design.
The range consists of two models – the RP 160 V Classic, which has a basic setup and is more suited to drier crops; and the RP 160 V Extra, which features a heavy-duty power split gearbox for heavier conditions.
The Lely RP 160 V Extra sits on top of the range and is available as a rotor-feed non-chopper baler or can be fitted with Lely’s Mastercut 13 knife or Xtracut 17 knife chopping systems.
"Customers that tend to go for these machines are those looking for higher output either baling in a short period of time, or customers in need of highly dense bales," says Lely Australia sales manager, David Allen.
"Bales per hour all come down to crop conditions, but in general, if you're not doing 60 per hour, hour in hour out, day after day, it will be a surprise."
