After 10 years of collaboration, New Zealand farm machinery specialist Hustler Equipment has announced its acquisition of fellow NZ manufacturer, Robertson Manufacturing.
The merger means Hustler Equipment will now offer Robertson Manufacturing's range of products including its Comby feed-out machines.
Robertson Manufacturing was established in 1977 by Don and Delma Robertson after a machine Don built for a neighbour in Hinds (Mid-Canterbury) to feed his sheep more efficiently through winter gained widespread interest.
Don claims to have personally designed and manufactured the first silage wagons in New Zealand's South Island.
In 2006, Hustler Equipment and Robertson Manufacturing started working together to come up with specially designed products for the market.
Before retiring, Don decided to hand the keys of his business over to a trusted company and chose Hustler Equipment, which has 55 years of experience manufacturing livestock feeding equipment.
With the acquisition, Hustler hopes to build a stronger brand both in New Zealand and globally.
Apart from making branding changes on Robertson Manufacturing's equipment, it will be business as usual for both companies and their facilities.
Hustler Equipment adds it will ensure the transition is as smooth as possible so they can start providing customer service to Robertson Manufacturing's existing clients.
